Interior Design and Color Consulting for Napa Residence

>> Next Interior Design Portfolio

This 6000 sq. ft. residence, designed by Gary Tucker Architects, is nestled into a wooded knoll high above Napa Valley with views to San Francisco on a clear day.

The house was conceived to capture the magnificent views – all the way to San Francisco on a clear day -- yet integrate seamlessly into the hillside. The furniture layouts have been carefully conceived to take full advantage of the view corridors created by the architecture.

Guests arrive at a terrace which descends through a dramatic rock and water garden to the main entry next to a quietly flowing waterfall. Sliding doors disappear into walls creating an open flow of space to the exterior. The modern interior spaces are articulated with massive masonry elements that impart a quietly powerful mood.

As color consultants we helped develop an interior palette using organic materials throughout this unique interior design. Locally quarried Napa stone, red cedar paneling, Chinese slate flooring, custom hardwood cabinets and granite countertops continue the palette into the creative contemporary furniture. The architectural lighting design is managed through a central control system.

The sensitive detailing employed throughout the house creates a serene repose evoking the calm of an Asian landscape.
